भारत में हर साल 15 सितंबर को अभियंता दिवस (इंजीनियर्स डे) के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इसी दिन भारत के महान अभियंता और भारत रत्न मोक्षगुंडम विश्वेश्वरैया का जन्मदिन होता है।
देशभर में बने कई नदियों के बांध और पुल को कामयाब बनाने के पीछे विश्वेश्वरय्याजी का बहुत बड़ा हाथ है। उन्हीं के योगदान को देखते हुए देश में अभियंता दिवस मनाने की शुरुआत हुई थी।
सदियों पहले जो लोग अपनी नींद, खाना, हँसी और जीवन के अन्य सुखों का त्याग करते थे,
उन्हें ‘महात्मा’ या फिर ‘संत’ कहा जाता था, लेकिन अब उन्हें Engineers कहा जाता है।
नहीं भारी बस्ते ढोता है,
बैक आने पर नहीं रोता है
रातों को भी नहीं सोता है.
वही असल में इंजिनियर होता हैं।
किताबें खुली हो या बंद हो
पढ़ाई लास्ट नाईट ही होती है
कैसे कहूँ मैं वो यारा
ये इंजीनियरिंग ऐसे ही होती है
